Your first session in Gakuran is mostly getting punched by people who've learned spacing.
Here's how to shorten that phase.
Before anything: bank your free Rerolls
Redeem every active code the moment you spawn — takes a minute via the
left-side menu and stocks you with free
Rerolls for your character's height, ethnicity, and surname.
Codes expire without warning; the ones live today may not survive the next update.
Your first hour
Watch before you swing. Combat is combo- and timing-based — spend your first fights walking away from trades you didn't choose and watching how experienced players space each other.
Lose on purpose, cheaply. Early losses cost you almost nothing and teach you attack ranges faster than winning against other beginners does.
Don't chase. The classic new-player death: over-extending after a fleeing opponent straight into their friends. School hallways have corners for a reason.
Roll your identity early. If you're going to reroll height (reach and hitbox follow your frame), do it before you build muscle memory around one body type.
Mistakes that mark you as fresh meat
Mashing attacks into a blocking opponent instead of resetting distance.
Typing codes by hand (typos) instead of copying from the verified list.
Believing anyone offering "free Robux codes" — Gakuran codes give Rerolls only; Robux offers are account-theft bait.
Keep leveling up
The meta shifts with every update — new codes usually drop alongside patches, so the
update log doubles as a patch radar. For style-by-style and
mechanics depth, the community keeps the game's official Discord and Trello current;
find them safely via our Discord guide.
